TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON A944 TO BLACKBURN ROAD, DELAYS EXPECTED

Traffic lights will be in force from April 27th on Borrowstone Road, the back road to Blackburn, very close to its junction with the A944. Drivers who use the road as a shortcut to and from work should expect delays.

Traffic lights are being put in place for one day for works related to the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR). The AWPR is a major bypass of the city of Aberdeen which will improve connectivity between many outlying towns and suburbs, not least Westhill, and journey times on the A90 and A96. The massive South Kingswells junction will connect the A944 dual carriageway to the new A90 and the bypass will reduce congestion in many of the cities road interchanges such as the Bridge of Dee and the Haudagain Roundabout.
