Support for three Sunday evening buses on the X17 Westhill-Aberdeen route is to remain in place.

Aberdeenshire Council had been poised to scrap the “socially necessary services” from July 17 because of budget cuts and low usage.

However, the council said the savings were required were considerably lower than first advised and that the service would continue to be supported until at least the end of the current financial year.

The Kingseat-Inverurie via Kinmuck service, which was also due to be impacted, will also be maintained.
