Charlie Henderson, Practice Manager at Skene Medical Group, writes: 

“An individual very recently telephoned a patient of a Practice in Aberdeenshire claiming to be a Doctor from that Practice.  

“The individual appeared to know that the patient had ordered a prescription recently and asked for the patient’s bank account details as part of the security checks for ordering the prescription.

“Please be aware of any calls like this, as under no circumstances would a member of the Practice staff call you in such a manner, let alone ask for your bank details.

“If you are in any doubt about the validity of a call from the Practice, get the name of who you are talking to, then put the phone down and call the practice from a different phone to verify the call.”
