POLICE Scotland have repeated a call to Westhill residents to keep their homes secure – so cars stay put.

The force warned that opportunistic thieves were targeting towns in Aberdeenshire.

Officers said vehicle keys were being taken from homes where doors and windows were left unlocked.

Meanwhile, police in the Westhill area are continuing to target illegal parking in Arnhall Business Park and outside the town’s schools.

An appeal was made for motorists, including parents, to abide by the rules of the road to help keep children safe.
